Field Training

All new recruits must complete our fourteen (14) week Field Training Program (FTP) if selected. This program ensures standardized training and evaluation to facilitate the transition from the academic setting to the actual performance of general law enforcement duties; and introduces the policies, procedures, and operations of the Fort Gibson Police Department.

The FTP consists of seven different phases of training. During which time the probationary officer (PO) will be placed with an FTO (Field Training Officer). The PO will be evaluated at each step of the FTP. Completion of the FTP is the very last step in the hiring process.

Applications may be downloaded or picked up at the Police Department. All applications must be completed fully and returned in person. Make sure to attach all documents requested along with the application.
